As part of efforts to further empowering women with leadership skills, the House of Representatives Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, in collaboration with Nigeria Women Magazine, has announced the Nigeria Women Leadership and Empowerment Conference.
According to the chairman of the committee, Hon. Kafilat A. Ogbara, in a statement, the event will take place on February 27, 2025, at the NAF Conference Centre in Kado, Abuja, at 12 noon.
“One of the highlights of the occasion is the unveiling of a comprehensive compendium titled “Jewels of Hope and Development,” which showcases women in leadership positions across Nigeria.
“The conference promises to be an enriching experience, featuring discussions on women’s inclusivity in governance, financial empowerment of low-income earners and widows, and awards for exceptional leaders.
“Renowned women leaders, entrepreneurs, business owners, executives, professionals, and young women aspiring to leadership roles are expected to grace the occasion.
“This initiative aligns with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development’s mandate to promote gender equality and women empowerment.
“It also aims to support the United Nations’ efforts geared towards enhancing women’s political participation and leadership in Nigeria.”
