Troops of the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army have rescued 11 kidnapped persons during a coordinated operation in Kachia Local Government Area of
The rescue took place late on January 26 along the Kaduna–Abuja highway axis.
The troops, deployed at a Forward Operating Base in Doka, reportedly sighted armed terrorists escorting captives along a bush path between Gidan Duna and Amale communities in Kachia LGA.
According to the sources, the soldiers immediately mobilised and moved to intercept the suspects.
“On noticing the advancing security vehicles and motorcycles, the terrorists abandoned the victims and escaped into the surrounding bush,” the sources said.
“The troops secured the victims and fired probing shots in the area, but there was no further engagement.”
The rescued victims comprised five adult men, three women and three children. They told the troops that they were abducted from Gada Mallam Maman community in Kachia LGA on October 26, 2025.
