Nigerian soldiers have captured a notorious terrorist camp reportedly linked to dreaded bandit leaders, Kachalla Ibrahim, and Shu’aibu, in Kogi State. The camp, located in Okunland was said to be the birthplace of many terrorist attacks in the state.
The operation, carried out by security forces in a coordinated offensive, on Tuesday night spreading to the early hours of this Wednesday, led to the dismantling of the crim!nal hideout believed to have served as a strategic base for planning and launching attacks within the state and its surrounding communities.
According to security sources, the camp was located in a forested area known for criminal activities. During the raid, troops engaged the terrorists in a gun battle, forcing them to flee while abandoning key items and logistics. Several weapons, ammunition, and other incriminating materials were reportedly recovered from the scene.
The captured camp is said to have been a major operational hub for Kachalla Ibrahim and Shu’aibu, who have long been linked to k!dnapping, armed robbery, and other v!olent crimes across parts of Kogi and neighboring states.
This development marks a significant step in ongoing military efforts to restore peace and security in Kogi State. Residents of affected communities have expressed relief and commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for their bravery and commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
Security authorities have assured the public that operations will continue until all criminal elements are flushed out completely from the region.
