Police rescue 5 people from kidnappers in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has announced the rescue of five persons from kidnappers. Spokesperson of the command, SP William Ovye Aya, in a statement, said the victims were rescued on Thursday in the Ajaokuta area.

Aya also said the police superior fire power forced another set of hoodlums to abandon their gun in Ankpa during an engagement with operatives.

“The Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Adogo Division led by SP Yusuf Hantsi, in collaboration with the Local Vigilantes today Thursday 23/5/2024 rescued five kidnapped victims who were earlier kidnapped at Aresuare Area of Ajaokuta Local Government.

“The victims were kidnapped on 17/5/2024 while on transit along Ajaokuta-Adogo road. The Operatives, while on rescue mission, combed the bush and invaded the kidnappers camp. The hoodlums engaged the team in a gun duel. But, due to the superior firepower of the team, the hoodlums abandoned their victims and fled. All the victims were rescued unhurt.
