A philanthropist, Asiwaju Prince Olatunji Olusoji, has made a cash donation of N30 million naira to Anglican College of Nursing and Health Technology, Ogidi-Ijumu, Kogi State.
He made the donation recently during the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the administrative building in the institution.
Asiwaju Prince Olusoji who was Special Guest of honour said the donation was to assist the health sector in the state.
He added that the government can not be everywhere and, as a result, whatever little he can do to assist the administration of Alhaji Ahmed Ododo as governor of the state he will definitely do .
“The governor is trying his best in the area of the health sector. He has commenced the renovation of primary health care centres across the state.
“So this contribution is to propel the development of the educational institution and pave the way for a brighter future for students in the community. We need to encourage our children to go to school. They are our pride tomorrow,” he said.
In his response, Rt Revd Dr Paul Olarewaju Ojo, Bishop of the Anglican Communion Ijumu Diocese, thanked Asiwaju Olusoji for the donation.
He mentioned that his donation will undoubtedly have a ripple effect, enriching the educational landscape and empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
The Anglican Bishop announced a special tribute to honour the donor’s remarkable contribution.
His words, “The administrative building of the College will now bear his name, serving as a lasting symbol of his impactful philanthropy and dedication to uplifting communities through education.
The news of the donation and the subsequent naming of the administrative building after him has sparked widespread admiration and gratitude from the local community.
