The Management of the Confluence University of Science and Technology CUSTECH Osara has declared three days of mourning over the death of two students of the institution.
The institution which expressed deep pain and sorrow over the loss also directed that all activities in the university are to be held low-key from Monday, 27th to Wednesday, 29th May, 2024 in memory of the departed students.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the Registrar of the institution, Olufunke Hudson (Ms), on Sunday.
It would bevrecalled that an unspecified number of students of institution was abducted on Thursday, 9th May, this year.
“The Management shares in the pains of the parents, family, and colleagues of our dearly beloved deceased students, and we use this medium to condole with them.
“We wish to assure the parents, guardians, and the university community that the Kogi State government is making concerted efforts to ensure the safe release of the remaining students from captivity.
“We urge everyone to be calm and maintain the peace as the Visitor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts at making sure that the students are released safely
May the Almight God grant the souls of our departed students eternal repose.”
The Kogi State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of the two abducted students.
The State Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja, described the killing by the kidnappers as very unfortunate.
The CP who did not give details of the killing said security operatives were on the trail of the abductors to bring them to book.
