The Kogi State House of Assembly has extended the time for members of the Transition Committees in the 21 lo Al government areas of the state.
According to a terse statement by Yabagi Mohammed, the Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to the Speaker, on Friday, the extension follows a request to that effect in a letter from Governor Usman Ododo.
“This followed a letter sent to the House by the Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who stated that nature abhors vacuum and that the state cannot afford to hold an election at the moment due to the huge financial resources needed for the exercise.
The committee was appointed by the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who vacated office on 27 January, this. They were appointed for a six month period in thr first instance.
