The All Progressives Congress (APC) is a party built on credibility, fairness, and internal democracy.
Our able, upright, and ever-dynamic governor, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is well known for his commitment to due process and a level playing field for all aspirants.
He believes strongly in transparent and credible primaries conducted in the interest of the people of Kabba/Bunu-Ijumu Federal Constituency.
Hon. Arc Salman Idris was reported to have boasted at a birthday gathering in Abuja that he would secure the APC ticket through the federal government.
This claim is not only laughable but also misleading.
It must be clearly stated that the APC primary election will be conducted in Kabba town, the headquarters of the Western Senatorial District, and in line with the party’s constitution.
There is no record whatsoever that any APC stakeholder or group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Hon. Arc Salman during his defection from ADC to APC.
APC remains the leading political party not only in Kogi State but across Nigeria. As such, the party will not jeopardize its hard-earned reputation by engaging in manipulation or undue influence that could undermine its image before party members and the electorate in Kabba/Bunu-Ijumu Federal Constituency.
We repose absolute confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, trust in the leadership and judgment of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and believe firmly in the integrity of the All Progressives Congress.
Let it be unequivocally stated: there shall be a primary election, and no party ticket is automatic.
