A member of the National Stakeholders Committee of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Dr. Tunde Arosanyin has withdrawn from and put on hold the setting up of the Transition Committee for Kogi state chapter of the association.
AFAN national body in a reconciliatory move had assigned Arosanyin through the Stakeholders Committee to interfere in the Kogi State chapter crises with a means of resolving the crises; a move that led to his setting up of the transition committee as a step towards electing new officials for the state.
However, Arosanyin, in a surprise move on Wednesday through a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja, announced his withdrawal from the reconciliation process.
“It has become imperative to inform members of the public that in view of the lingering crises in the All Farmers Association of Nigeria – AFAN, Kogi State Chapter, I hereby withdraw the earlier publication in the composition of the transition Committee.
“Consequently, the various factions are free to conduct their activities in the best way they deem fit.
“For those who have been positively involved in one way or the other, I sincerely regret the inconviniences that the decision may cause.
“I wish the farmers, Kogi State and Nigeria the very best.
