The Media Advocacy Group for Senator Sunday Steve Karimi, says it has uncovered a plot by the newly elected All Progressives Congress, APC, Ward Chairmen in one of the Local Governments in Okunland to pass a vote of no confidence on the Kogiwest Senator.
In a Press Statement on Thursday, the group claimed that the Chairman of the unnamed L.G.A allegedly summoned the new party stalwarts to a meeting where he gave the instruction, adding that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo was fingered in the plot.
“We consider this development a needless political drama that is clearly at variance with the spirit of Kogi West politics, which has always operated as a unified family. The summons and intention equally run against the grain of the verifiable achievements of Senator Sunday Karimi in the said Local Government Area and across Kogi West Senatorial District. We find it necessary, therefore, to put the public on notice regarding attempts by certain elements to sow seeds of division within our great party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The ship of progress in our beloved district will not be derailed.
“The people of Kogi West are politically sophisticated. They cannot be misled by contrived political theatrics. They are cognisant of the broad-based contributions of Senator Sunday Karimi, whose interventions and empowerment programmes have positively impacted youths, women, and students across the Senatorial District.
“Equally, the people are witnesses to the numerous people-oriented projects facilitated by the Senator, which continue to improve lives and strengthen development across the district.
“We therefore urge those engaging in the ongoing political circus and unnecessary sycophancy to focus on issues that truly matter to the people rather than actions capable of creating avoidable divisions within the party. Desperadoes and characters who have failed the people over the years cannot now be repackaged in robes of deceit.
“As a team, we remain focused on the bigger task of delivering continued progress and strengthening the bond between leadership and the people. We encourage those being misled to rededicate themselves to the service of our people.”
