Educating Africans on Web3 and cryptocurrency adoption has become a key priority, and global cryptocurrency exchange MEXC has intensified efforts toward that goal. The company emphasizes the importance of understanding how the Web3 and cryptocurrency ecosystem works, and why the continent needs to participate actively in a fast-growing digital economy.
On Thursday, MEXC reaffirmed its commitment at the Africa Blockchain Festival 2025, held in Kigali, Rwanda, from the 7th to the 9th of November. The event brought together over 4,000 innovators, investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to explore how blockchain and artificial intelligence can help transform Africa’s economy.
Speaking at the festival, MEXC highlighted its mission to empower Africans to navigate the crypto market confidently by breaking down both the biases that hinder adoption and the technical barriers many users face.
The company hosted interactive booths where hundreds of attendees engaged in workshops, explored trading tools, and asked questions. MEXC’s focus was on clarity and accessibility rather than complexity.
MEXC Chief Operating Officer Tracy Jin said, “At the heart of MEXC’s growth is a clear philosophy: put users first. We see our users as partners, not just traders, which is why we invest heavily in education and hands-on learning to ensure they understand the market and can make informed decisions.”
Beyond the conference, the company through its foundation, runs programs aimed at expanding blockchain literacy across Africa. These include university collaborations, ambassador opportunities, and mentorship programs designed to equip young Africans with the skills needed to build in the Web3 space.
MEXC also used the festival as an opportunity to collaborate with local blockchain developers, startups, and projects. Discussions focused on leveraging blockchain technology to solve real problems Africans face in education, finance, and supply chain transparency. The exchange also supported local innovators, with the goal of shifting Africa from being a consumer of technology to becoming a creator.
Their approach prioritizes a user-first philosophy that combines a simple interface, low trading fees, responsive customer support, and practical education. A large number of festival attendees signed up immediately after learning about the platform, with some completing their first trades on the spot, a sign of the company’s ability to build trust through knowledge.
