Adeboye announces 100-Day New YearFast

In a bold spiritual move aimed at ushering in national renewal, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, has announced a 100-day fasting program themed ‘RCCG FAST 2025.’

The initiative, which begins January 11 and ends April 21, 2025, is positioned to catalyse Nigeria’s turnaround. Adeboye made the announcement during the church’s first Holy Ghost Night of 2025 and later reiterated it in a video posted on his official Facebook page.

Pastor Adeboye emphasized that the first 30 days of the fast would focus solely on prayers for Nigeria, reflecting a deep concern for the nation’s socio-economic and security challenges.

“We are starting January 11—100 days, that’s all,” Adeboye said, adding that participants could adopt flexible fasting schedules to accommodate their capacities.

Options include continuous fasting for 14, 21, or 30 days, which will count as 28, 63, or 100 days, respectively.
Adeboye made provisions for older participants, stating that those aged 70 and above could break their fast by 3 p.m., while those aged 80 and above could break by noon.

However, he assured his congregation that he would personally lead the charge by fasting continuously to meet the 100-day goal. “I’m not leading from behind,” he declared. “By the grace of God, we’ll remain healthy and strong.”

Adeboye also urged participants to refrain from frivolous conversations and distractions during the fast, emphasizing the need for focus and intensity. He referenced Matthew 11:12 “The kingdom of God suffers violence, and the violent take it by force” declaring 2025 as a pivotal year for divine intervention and breakthroughs
