Kogi guber: AA’s Braimoh expresses confidence in Supreme Court

Candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, in last year’s Kogi State governorship election, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh has said he is hopeful that the outcome of the legal tussle over the poll will favour him at the Supreme Court, as the apex court this Monday, 19 August reserved ruling on thr matter.

This was made known in a statement by Musa Olumuyiwa Yakubu, Media Aide to the AA candidate who is challenging the victory of Governor Usman Ododo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The statement reads:

“The legal contest over the Kogi State gubernatorial election has advanced to the Supreme Court, where the judgment has been reserved in the case between Action Alliance (AA) candidate Otunba Olayinka Braimoh and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, incumbent Governor Usman Ododo.

“In response to this critical juncture, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh calls upon all supporters and well-wishers of the Action Alliance to remain resolute, vigilant, and law-abiding. He reiterates his unwavering confidence in the Judiciary’s capacity to uphold justice, serving as the final bastion of hope for the common man.

“Otunba Braimoh is firmly convinced that the Supreme Court will meticulously rectify all injustices and oversights perpetrated by the lower tribunal and the Court of Appeal. He is assured that the integrity of the judicial process will prevail, ensuring that justice is not only done but seen to be done.

“We implore all stakeholders to maintain their steadfast support for the peaceful pursuit of justice as we await the Supreme Court’s decisive ruling. Otunba Braimoh remains fully committed to upholding the rule of law and safeguarding the democratic will of the people of Kogi State.”
