APC Stakeholders in MopAmuro Endorse Ademola Bello for Council Chairmanship

Critical stakeholders in Mopamuro Local Government Area have endorsed the candidature of Hon. Ademola Bello, aka Destiny for the October 19, 2024 Council Poll in the Local Government Area, saying the decision was in the best interest of the Mopamuro people.

The decision of the stakeholders was taken after hours of deliberations at a meeting in Lokoja.

Briefing newsmen after the meeting, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, said Bello has performed excellently as Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government and deserves the support of everyone.

In his words: “Mopamuro is a very sensitive local government and houses political heavyweights. The gentleman’s agreement on rotation has been adhered to in this case. Hon Ademola Bello Destiny has justified the confidence reposed in him and should be supported to continue.

“The last few months have witnessed tremendous development in Mopamuro Local Government Area. Our people are comfortable and happy with his performance and have mandated us to throw our support behind him.

“From here, we are going back home to deepen consultations with our people and also fashion out the campaign plans for our party in order to record another landslide.

“We won all the Ward for the party in the Local Government Area during the House of Assembly election and during the recently conducted Governorship Election. It shows Mopamuro is for APC, and APC is for Mopamuro.

“Our number one leader in Mopamuro Local Government Area, His Excellency Arc. Yomi Awoniyi is totally with us on this endorsement as well as the likes of Hon. Eric Fiki and other leaders and elders of the party.

“The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission has promised a free and fair election, and we have confidence in them to deliver.”

The stakeholders also thanked the governor of the state , His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo, for the various projects he is doing in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

Others at the meeting are the Member Representing Mopamuro Constituency in the House of Assembly, Hon. Olawumi Jacob; Mopamuro Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Charles Abayomi Omoyele; Special Adviser to the Governor on Cultural Integration (West), Hon. Moses Sunday David; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon. Tope Ajayi; Senior Legislative Assistant to the Senate President, Hon. Seth Abayomi Ronke; Chairman, KOSACA, Pastor Mrs Roseline Alabi; Secretary to Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Wale Elekula.

Responding, Hon. Ademola Bello Destiny thanked the Stakeholders for their endorsement and support, assuring them of his continued commitment to the progress and development of Mopamuro LGA.
